Music and more:

While the floppy drive on my aging ENSONIQ SD-1 synthesizer is still functional, I'm working on transferring the MIDI data from those disks into a modern workstation environment.

This is a rerecorded and remastered version of "Desert Rain," a song from my first album released in 1999.

Most of the songs on that album were created entirely with the SD-1's on-board MIDI sequencer, and the original version of Desert Rain had some minor timing and other issues as a result, particularly when the time signature changes from 7/8 to 8/8.

This version fixes all of those, and also has updated piano, bass and string patches, as well as a new synth line  - all from the Yamaha Montage.

You can hear the rerecorded and remastered version of Desert Rain on all major streaming platforms including

After focusing on rock music in cover band Rollin' 7s, opening for Larry Mitchell and playing the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally for a couple of years, Madisyn Danforth and Steve Sisson decided to go in a different musical direction, mixing lush layered vocals with music in the spirit of EDM. Combining elements of their names into a group that embodies that vision, DANSS was born.

If your experience with the TV series Remington Steele only goes back as far as the DVDs (or streaming), you may be puzzled about a few things.

This video documents the musical changes made for the Remington Steele DVDs - some largely inconsequential, others extremely impactful.

This video is a work in progress - you can help update it if you have recordings of the original NBC broadcasts - comment on the video to participate!

Over a weekend in October 2023, I replaced the aging Radio Systems Millenium consoles for Sheridan radio stations KROE and KWYO with new Wheatstone L-series digital consoles.  This is a time-lapse of the L-12 installation in the KROE studio.

The Wheatstone Audio Over IP system represents a significant leap forward in flexibility and wiring simplicity.  For KROE, hundreds of wires were replaced with less than 10, and the studio now has immediate access to any audio in the system through the touch of a button.
